Full Force! Science Show : Celebrating 15 Years of Science in a Van

Science in a Van is heading to the stage! We’ve been taking science shows into schools and ECEs across Aotearoa since 2011. Now we’re bringing some of our favourite shows to public audiences. Come along with your whānau, your curious humans or your science-loving mates and see what happens when science takes centre stage. Full Force! Our 15-year celebration show 2026 marks 15 years of Science in a Van, and we wanted to celebrate with a show that captures some of what we love about doing science shows: big ideas, surprising demonstrations, plenty of movement and a whole lot of “what do you think will happen?” So we’ve chosen Full Force! for our 15-year celebration. This high-energy, action-packed science show puts physics on full display through fast-moving demonstrations, surprising moments and plenty of audience engagement. We’ll be exploring the invisible forces that shape our world — including gravity, friction, energy transfer and motion. You'll see what happens when forces push, pull and collide, with live experiments and dramatic demonstrations that invite you to watch, predict and work out what’s happening. From the crack of a whip to the tension of a chair of nails, Full Force! is packed with moments that make you lean in, react and rethink what you’re seeing. Expect big reactions, plenty of laughter, and a science show that doesn’t stand still for a second. Suitable for: Designed for ages 7–12, but fun for curious humans of all ages. Children under 14: Must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
