National Council of Women Waitaha | Canterbury invites you to our annual Hilda Lovell-Smith Fundraising Event Hilda Lovell-Smith was an active campaigner for women’s rights in the early to mid-1900s here in Ōtautahi Christchurch. To celebrate her legacy, and the work of those advocating for gender equality today, we’re hosting an educational and interactive panel discussion: The Automated Misogynist: How AI Amplifies Gender Inequity 📅 Wednesday 28 October 2026 📍 The Borough, Richmond Club 75 London Street, Richmond, Christchurch We have invited academics and researchers to join us for an engaging discussion about how artificial intelligence can reinforce gender inequity, and what we can do to address these growing challenges. Join us to: • 🎤 Hear from academics and researchers as they share their insights and perspectives. • 🤖 Take part in a fun AI quiz challenge — how much do we actually know about AI? • 💡 Get hands-on with AI in your table groups and explore how we might address the challenges AI presents. 🎟️ Tickets: $25 per person Tea, coffee and cake will be provided. Drinks and bar snacks will be available for purchase. To support our fundraising efforts, we’ll also be holding a raffle, so don’t forget to bring some cash! Doors open at 6.30pm. Please arrive by 7.00pm to settle in before the event begins. Free parking is available at The Borough, and the venue has step-free access.
