Technologies and workflows used to transfer legacy visual media into modern digital formats for long-term preservation and use. Digitising Legacy Photo, Film and Video Media Historic photographs, film recordings and videotape collections are increasingly at risk as ageing media deteriorates and playback equipment becomes difficult to access. This presentation explores the technologies and workflows used to transfer legacy visual media into modern digital formats for long-term preservation and use. The presentation will also examine current approaches to colour restoration, image enhancement, frame rate conversion and AI-assisted stabilisation. Speaker - Wayne Bertram, Manager, Copy to Disk Wayne has spent 50 years in television production, including 20 years working for UTEL Digital Magic at Norwood (SA). During that time, he was involved in many varied aspects of TV commercial production including camera work, sound recording on location and in the studio, editing, graphic work and of course a lot of film transfers. He also looked after the computer network at UTEL Digital Magic. In January 2016 he took over the entire film and tape transfer business under the new name of COPY TO DISC.. Registration is free.
