Decolonized: Costa da Caparica - StandUp Comedy in English

Lisbon comedians Rodrigo Oliveira & Brandon Aguirre bring you a stand-up comedy show about identity, modern Europe, and history's hangover. What’s the worst-case scenario for an empire that had it all? To lose it all, or to refuse to admit it? Lisbon-based comedians Rodrigo Oliveira and Brandon Aguirre bring you Decolonized, a stand-up comedy show in English about identity, modern Europe, and history’s hangover. One at a time, they share what it’s like to live in a former colonial giant that everyone visits, nobody respects, and few remember (no it’s not cute). A hilarious look at being decolonized, by moving to the colonizer’s land and by hanging on while the empire slips away. Despite the sunshine and wine, not everything is fine. Expect sharp takes on culture, modern European life, and what happens when the aftermath of history catches up to your life. Join us for an hour of jokes with Rodrigo and Brandon! The evening will be hosted by a friendly MC that will ensure everything runs smoothly and you feel welcome. Come one, come all! Come solo or in group!
