Spooky Halloween Tales: Writing Scary Stories for Tweens and Teens

Get ready for Halloween with this exciting creative writing workshop at Creative Roots, hosted by Julian’s Pen. Saturdays, October 3–October 17 Designed for students in 6th grade and up, this three-week series teaches young writers how to craft suspenseful, spine-chilling stories while building confidence in creative writing. Students will explore the elements of great spooky storytelling, including: • Building suspense • Creating eerie settings • Writing believable villains • Developing courageous protagonists • Using vivid sensory details • Creating atmosphere • Crafting surprising plot twists • Writing satisfying endings By the end of the workshop, each student will complete an original spooky story to take home.
