In Person: Mary’s Dream: Dignity and Care for Youth Entering Foster Care

Children will learn about Alicia's Closet and assemble care bags for kids in our community. Who this In Person Event is for: Ages 6-12. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants. Siblings of participants outside this age range are welcome but may find the event less meaningful and fulfilling. What you’ll be doing: Join Seeds of Caring as we partner with Alicia's Closet to support children in foster care, kinship care, and reunified families. Families will hear from Alicia's Closet about the different ways children enter foster care and learn how our community can support children and foster families during times of transition. Then, participants will assemble duffle bags filled with essential items to help a child feel cared for, valued, and prepared for a new beginning. This special project was inspired by Mary's Dream. Mary believed every child deserves comfort, dignity, and belongings they can truly call their own, especially during life's most challenging moments. Together with Mary's loved ones, we'll help make that dream a reality by preparing more than 30 duffle bags filled with brand-new essentials for local children. Specific Instructions: All supplies will be provided.
