Cork workshop with Oscar Cedon A series of workshops exploring the knowledge, materials and crafts that belong to life outdoors. Once a month, we open the doors of the Klättermusen Concept Store in Gothenburg and invite you in to learn something new. Something useful. Something unexpected. Every session is hosted by a different guest teacher, maker or expert, someone with a particular skill, obsession or way of seeing the world. Together, we dig into traditional craftsmanship, analogue navigation, natural materials and the many clever ways humans have learned to work with the outdoors. What can a piece of cork teach us? How do you find your way when there is no signal, only a map, a compass and the landscape around you? What makes a material worth carrying into the wild? We are pleased to welcome Oscar Cedon, a designer from Schlätta, now based in Gothenburg. He is a father of three with a fluctuating sense of grandeur, dreaming of digging deeper into his creative practice. In his work, he brings traditional craftsmanship together with modern technology in an explorative way. His practice combines CNC milling with classic woodworking, while his objects exist somewhere in the space between different forms of expression and materials — which is exactly where he wants them to be. Is he a designer or an artist? No one knows. Least of all Oscar. “As long as I can make the financial equation add up to zero and still have the energy to go completely off the rails, I’m doing just fine.” The workshops are deliberately varied and open-ended. Each guest shapes their own session, sharing knowledge through stories, demonstrations and hands-on making. No two sessions are quite the same. With only 15 members per session, the format stays small, personal and curious, a chance to get close to the craft, ask questions, try things out and learn directly from someone who knows their subject deeply.
