Klättermusen Gothenburg - Workshop with Protect Our Winters

Climbing, Carbon, and Collective Action by Sustainability Scientist Sean Fagan KLÄTTERMUSEN / POWClimbing, Carbon, and Collective Action A talk by sustainability scientist and climber Sean Fagan The climate crisis is accelerating. So is our ability to respond. The question is whether we can act together fast enough. Join Klättermusen and POW for an evening with sustainability scientist and climber Sean Fagan, exploring the climate challenges ahead and the opportunities we already have to shape a better future. Drawing on his research into glacial floods in Alaska and global tipping points at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Sean will connect the changes happening in our natural world to the bigger systems shaping our future. From melting glaciers and planetary boundaries to fossil fuels, food systems and the transition to renewable energy, the talk offers an honest look at where we stand, where we’re heading, and what is still holding us back. But this isn't just about understanding the problem. It's about recognising what's possible. The energy transition is underway, and solutions are increasingly within reach. Sean will explore how institutions, incentives and everyday decisions influence the pace of change, and why collective action matters as much as individual responsibility. Think local. Act together. Be part of something global. Come for an evening of insight, perspective and conversation about how we can contribute to a more sustainable future on the mountain, in our communities and beyond. All attendees will have access to a dedicated online resource with the statistics, references, recommended reading and practical ways to get involved.
