🔧 International Repair Day: Get to know your tools!

In this Repair Café, we are celebrating International Repair Day with a special focus on the tools behind repair. Repair starts with knowing your tools, and Repair Cafés are places where people can access them, learn how they work, and build the confidence to use them. This time, we will have a dedicated corner where we demonstrate some of the most common tools used in repair: 🔥 A soldering iron ⚡ A multimeter 🪛 A toolkit for opening appliances and electronics (screwdrivers, spudgers, opening picks) 🧵 A sewing machine (how to thread it) We will also share some reflections on why repairing products, especially electronics and appliances, can feel difficult today, and what is actually possible to repair yourself. After the demonstrations, you will be able to try the tools, ask questions, and get hands-on experience. What you will find 🧵 Our usual textile repair corner with needles, thread, patches, and repair kits. Bring your clothes and we will help you repair them. 🔌 Small appliances and electronics are welcome too. Thanks to some new tools, we can now open more devices and investigate what is happening inside. We will do our best to troubleshoot and figure things out together. 📍 Join us from 16:00 to 20:00 at Embassy House in Södermalm, Medborgarplatsen .
