fireplace has always claimed to be about 2am ideas. so we would be kidding ourselves if we didn't host an overnight space for creatives, curious people, and anyone working on dreams, passions, and 2am ideas of their own. and if you're still working it out, you are all the more welcome. sounds interesting? read on :D we're hosting this in the new creative makerspace studio in singapore that supports 2am ideas itching to come alive program details location: 8min walk from Upp Thomson MRT 4pm Wed 21st Oct to 8am Thurs 22nd Oct 4pm to 2am - chill social coworking 2am to 3am - 2am ideas club (& best dressed award) 3am to 8am - tranquil social coworking yes best dressed will be judged on vibes entirely - pyjamas and novelty encouraged 4pm to 2am - chill social coworking we're hosting a chill little work club for people making things, figuring things out, or just wanting to be around other creative humans. bring your laptop, sketchbook, project, rabbit hole, or unfinished whatever and come make things together. 2am to 3am - 2am ideas club fireplace 2am ideas club is a cozy space for friends with “too-delusional-or-too-early-for-people-to-care” ideas. we hear each other over-share ideas 2am hunch > 5 year biz plan 3am to 8am - chill social coworking pt. 2 maybe take a nap too. IMPT NOTE! this is a space for creatives, makers, dreamers, and people working on their thing this is not really a hangout space - although you’ll probably meet people here its a space to genuinely explore and express the things you care about. and even though there's no expectation that you have something done in the morning, take the space to move toward making something FAQs 1) why 2am? because some ideas only seem to appear when you’re supposed to be sleeping. and we believe those ideas are worth taking seriously 2) what counts as an “idea”? anything you’re curious enough to spend time on. it doesn’t need to be a startup. it doesn’t need to be useful. it doesn’t need to make money. it doesn’t even need to make sense yet. what if my idea is stupid? Good. 3) do i need an idea to join? definitely not. come with a half-formed idea, a vague itch, or simply something you’ve been wanting to explore. BUT you should come intending to work on something, rather than just hang out. 4) will there be networking? not really. nothing more than being in the same room with people for a number of hours. you are welcome to come by yourself, just expect to meet awesomely creative people 5) do I have to stay until 2am / overnight? nope 2am is a spirit, not a minimum attendance requirement. come when you can, leave when you'd like, or accidentally see the sunrise. and yes you can leave and come back 6) can I sleep there? yes you can but there are no beds nor a designated quiet zone. 7) food and drink options? there is water and a small pantry (pay per item). no food provided nearby, prata is 24hr and downstairs there's a coffee shop that opens standard hours 8) what should i bring? whatever you need to work on your thing.
