A listening, reading, & conversation series Track Changes is a monthly series where writers chat about their favorite music. Each event features one Philly-based writer and one out-of-town writer. Join us for a night of music, readings, and conversation at the beautiful Solar Myth! ✧ ✦ This Month's Guests ✦ ✧ Sadie Dupuis is the guitarist, songwriter & singer of rock band Speedy Ortiz, as well as the producer & multi-instrumentalist behind pop project Sad13. Sadie heads the record label Wax Nine, edits its poetry journal, and has contributed to Spin, Tape Op, Talkhouse, and more. She holds an MFA in poetry from UMass Amherst, where she also taught writing. Mouthguard, her first book, was published in 2018 (Gramma); Cry Perfume, a second poetry collection, was released in 2022 (Black Ocean). She is a founding organizer of United Musicians & Allied Workers and its local UMAW Philly. M.L. Rio has been an actor, a bookseller, an academic, and a music writer. She holds an MA in Shakespeare studies and a PhD in English literature. She is the author of the internationally bestselling novel If We Were Villains, the USA TODAY bestselling novella Graveyard Shift, and Hot Wax. ✧ ✦ Ticket Info ✦ ✧ This is a ticketed event. Getting tickets in advance is encouraged; availability at the door is not guaranteed. Online sales end at 7pm day-of. Sliding-scale donation tickets ($5–15 suggested) support honoraria for our readers. The community pool donation is a way to pay a ticket forward for anyone for whom the suggested donation is cost-prohibitive. Unclaimed community pool tickets roll over to future events.
