The actions taken during the first few minutes before emergency responders arrive can make a life-saving difference. Heart Heroes of Brunswick is a community initiative led by the Brunswick Division of Fire to help close that gap by giving everyday people the knowledge and confidence to act during a medical emergency. This hands-on training is designed for anyone who wants to be better prepared to help a family member, friend, coworker, neighbor, or even a stranger when every second counts. During this interactive 2-hour class, you'll learn practical skills that can help save a life, including: • Hands-Only CPR • How to recognize and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) • Stroke recognition and when to call 911 • Choking emergency response for adults, children, and infants • How to control severe bleeding until EMS arrives No previous medical or emergency response experience is required. Our firefighters and paramedics will provide easy-to-understand instruction, hands-on practice, and real-world guidance to help you feel confident responding in an emergency. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, coach, teacher, caregiver, business owner, or simply someone who wants to be prepared, this training is an opportunity to learn skills that could one day save a life.
