An Overview of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders This class will provide an overview of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, in order to help birthing folks, new parents and their loved ones feel supported and empowered throughout pregnancy and postpartum. We will cover the difference between baby blues and postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety and OCD, postpartum psychosis, post traumatic stress disorder and other common mental health disorders related to childbirth. You will come away with a betterunderstanding of how and when these disorders are most likely to occur, warning signs and risk factors, and where and how to find support. About your practitioner: Emily Brown, LCSW, LICSW, PMH-C, is an EMDR certified therapist and the founder of Other Plans Therapy, a private therapy practice in Albany, NY. The focus of Emily's clinical work is on supporting neurodivergent mothers and millennial women, with a particular emphasis on trauma informed care for those in the perinatal window.
