Debate: New Mexico State Legislator Salaries

Here's the debate topic: Resolved: Amend the New Mexico State Constitution to provide legislators a salary equal to the state's annual median household income. Is a $67,800 salary, in addition to per diem and a pension reasonable? Will a salary diversify the pool of potential legislators? Come share your view and learn from other views. Note: This resolution does not represent Braver Angels' stance on the issue. We will alternate between speeches in support of and against the resolution. Tickets are free, but donations help.
