UNM 2026 Community Engaged Research Lectureship (CERL) + PI Reception

Join us for the 2026 CERL that celebrates exceptional scholarly work that embodies UNM's commitment to community engaged research. Join us for an evening of back-to-back celebrations beginning w/ the PI reception followed by the annual UNM Community Engaged Research Lecture This year, as part of Research and Discovery Week, Nov. 2-6, the UNM Office of the Vice President for Research is combining two of its most popular events. The celebration will take place at PAIS on Nov. 3, beginning at 4 PM (Mountain Time) for an insightful event aimed to foster collaboration and innovation among researchers, community members, and key stakeholders. Agenda: 4 p.m. | PI Reception (In-person ONLY) 5:30 p.m. | Community Engaged Research Lecture (In-person + Zoom) About the Events: The PI Rreception is an annual celebration hosted by The Office of the Vice President for Research to honor the research and scholarship conducted by our Lobo researchers every year. It is a wonderful opportunity to honor remarkable achievements, nurture valuable connections, and potentially ignite new collaborations—all within the vibrant company of fellow scholars who share an unwavering passion for discovery. The annual Community-Engaged Scholarship Lecture Award recognizes exceptional scholarly work that embodies UNM's commitment to community engagement and profoundly and systematically affects the relationship between the university and the larger community in a positive and meaningful way. This is the highest award for community-engaged scholarship bestowed by the University of New Mexico. This year's awardee is Distinguihed Professor Steven Walsh of The James & Gail Ellis School of Business Leadership.
