Night with Dickens: A Christmas Carol

A Curio No. 7 Literary Evening at The Three Daughters Inn - A ticketed evening of story, spirit & season. Let the season carry us back to what matters most. An evening beyond the ordinary As the days grow shorter and the holiday season gathers around us, we invite you to pause, step inside, and enter the world of Charles Dickens. Join Curio No. 7 at The Three Daughters Inn for an evening inspired by A Christmas Carol—a story of memory, generosity, transformation, and the extraordinary possibility of seeing the world, and one another, differently. Wander among miniature tableaux, discover story cards and passages from the beloved tale, and enjoy seasonal refreshments at your leisure. Throughout the evening, gather for brief readings that bring Dickens’s words into the room. This is not simply a reading to sit and listen to. It is a literary gathering designed around the experience of a story: its atmosphere, its details, its revelations, and the connections that emerge when we share it together. Step into the story Imagine the warmth of a Victorian Christmas: old books, seasonal details, the suggestion of a familiar world just beyond the everyday, and a room gathered around a story that has endured for generations. Throughout the evening, readings from A Christmas Carol will be woven into the experience. Literary tableaux—carefully curated arrangements of objects and visual details inspired by Dickens's world—will offer moments to pause, look closer, and discover the story in unexpected ways. Seasonal refreshments, warm conversation, and opportunities for reflection will round out the evening. Your evening includes: • Readings woven throughout the experience — selected passages from A Christmas Carol that bring Dickens's words into our shared gathering. • Literary tableaux — story-inspired visual arrangements that invite curiosity and closer attention. • Seasonal refreshments — a curated selection of non-alcoholic, Dickens-inspired drinks and holiday treats. • Conversation and reflection — time to consider the story's themes and share in the pleasure of gathering with others. A story about the possibility of change At the heart of A Christmas Carol is a question that remains as relevant today as it was in Dickens's time: What might change if we learned to see our lives, our choices, and one another differently? Through memory, attention, generosity, and human connection, Scrooge is invited to imagine a different future. His journey reminds us that the stories we tell—and the ways we choose to respond to them—can change the course of our lives. Curio No. 7 creates literary experiences that invite us to slow down, notice the details, and become part of a story rather than simply observe it. Whether A Christmas Carol is a cherished holiday tradition or a story you are discovering anew, you are welcome. Come for the atmosphere. Stay for the story. Leave with a little more wonder.
