Features John Proulx (piano/vocal), Maya Proulx (guitar/vocal), Jonathan Richards (bass), Reggie Quinerly (drums), and Peter Smith. Sessions at Stained Glass is a monthly concert series from the music studio of Peter Smith. For vol. 24, we are featuring the wonderful pianist and vocalist John Proulx along with his marvelous up-and-coming daughter, Maya. Both John and Maya are highly skilled and talented instrumentalists and vocalists. John has recorded several albums under his own leadership and served as an indispensible accompanist and music director to importanat artists like Natalie Cole, Melissa Manchester, and Ann Hampton Calloway. At just 18 years old, Maya is already on her way to a stunning career, winning several awards and scholarships and enrolled in the music school at USC. Expect some gems from this Father/Daughter duo with expert accompaniment from Jonathan Richards and Reggie Quinerly, along with some holiday gems with Peter joining in for 3-part harmonies. There will be light refreshments served, free of charge. Stained Glass Music Studio is located in the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. Parking meters are not enforced on Sunday. Alternately, you can park in the garage at 150 E. Holly Street 91101. You can park in any blank spot or any spot marked "First Baptist Church." Bring in your garage ticket for validation. Someone will meet you at the front door on Marengo and guide you upstairs. Important*: there are two short flights from the second floor (8 steps each) up to the studio, which are unavoidable. There is no elevator access to the space itself.
