Welding: DIY Custom Wall Shelf Brackets

Make your own welded wall shelf brackets while learning and practicing an array of techniques! In this workshop, participants will each make a pair of wall shelf brackets for mounting a wooden shelf to the wall. Expect to practice an array of metalworking skills including: • Measuring and cutting steel • Drilling and countersinking holes • Bending curved root designs with round rod • Welding and grinding to clean up welds. This series of workshops provides the instruction & materials needed to create handmade and upcycled gifts for friends and family in preparation for the holiday season or any occasion. What to Wear / Safety Notes: NON-SYNTHETIC & non-flammable clothing like denim, wool, or canvas. Closed-toed shoes, pants that cover shoe tops, long sleeve shirt or jacket to put over shirt. Skill Level: All levels Important Workshop Details: • Attendees must be 18+ • Attendees should arrive 15 minutes early to check in. • Refunds are only allowed until 72 hours before the event. • Bathrooms and refillable water stations are available on site. • Participants may byo snacks and food with special consideration for longer and "meal-time" workshops. Fridge on site for storage. • Unless otherwise noted the workshops space is located at the back of the building and does not require use of stairs. • If a class does not reach a sustainable capacity, the instructor may cancel up to 48 hours before the event.
