5th Annual Investor Mixer

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, we will host the 5th Annual Spelman & Morehouse Venture Capital Mixer at The Tess Atlanta in Buckhead. Held during the annual Morehouse and Spelman Homecoming celebration, this event brings together alumni returning from across the country to reconnect, celebrate longstanding friendships, and strengthen professional relationships. Founded by Morehouse alum and PE/ VC investors Terrence Battle and  Alexis Dulan, the mixer was created to showcase the remarkable accomplishments of startups and finance professionals in the Morehouse and Spelman alumni  ecosystem. It also serves as a platform to recognize the extraordinary concentration of investors, operators, founders, and executives within the Spelhouse community while creating intentional opportunities to connect founders with the capital, relationships, and resources needed to build transformative companies. The mission has remained the same since day one: to bridge the gap between founders and funding. By bringing together founders, venture capitalists, private equity investors, family offices, corporate executives, and finance professionals under one roof, the event has become one of Homecoming's premier networking experiences for the innovation ecosystem. Previous editions, held at the Morehouse alumni-owned The James Room, reached capacity and were hosted by some of the nation's most respected venture investors, including Rashaun Williams, Founder of Value Investment Group, General Partner of MVP All-Star Fund, and Co-Founder of QueensBridge Venture Partners, as well asAustin Clements, Founder and Managing Partner of Slauson & Co., whose firm recently closed its second fund at $100 million. Past attendees have also included notable investors such as Kirby Harris, Partner at Base Ventures, Bryan Rand, Founder and CEO of Rand & Co., along with numerous founders, executives, and investment professionals from across the country. This year's event will again be held at The Tess Atlanta's Buckhead rooftop, providing expanded capacity and a premier atmosphere for meaningful conversations, relationship building, and collaboration. While this year's host will be announced soon, the venture capital, finance, and founder community that has made this event a staple of Homecoming is eagerly anticipating another unforgettable evening. As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, this year's theme,“Bridging the Gap Between Capital and Community" reflects our commitment to creating intentional pathways between exceptional founders,  investors, and strategic partners who can help accelerate their growth.
