Melvin Jones and Friends

Melvin Jones live at Eddie's Attic! Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Melvin Jones earned his first two Grammy Awards in 1998 while attending Morehouse College, appearing on TLC's triple platinum album "Fanmail." After graduating with honors, he earned a Master's Degree from Rutgers University under the late trumpet legend William "Prof" Fielder. At just 24, Jones became the youngest Professor and Band Director in Morehouse College's history before resuming a full-time performance career that has taken him around the world. Jones has toured, recorded, and performed with Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Missy Elliott, PJ Morton, and many more -- appearing on over 200 recordings and performing on nearly every continent. He currently serves as a member of Usher's Touring and Residency Bands and is a regular member of Patti LaBelle's and Stevie Wonder's Bands. A true Atlanta original and one of the most decorated musicians working today.
