Nu Africans Crown and Shields A Community Art Workshop

Join Grace Kisa at Hammonds House Museum to create shield and crown art celebrating identity, strength, leadership, and creativity. Join us at Hammonds House Museum for Crown and Shields, an interactive community art workshop exploring the symbolism of protection, strength, leadership, and personal achievement facilitated by Grace Kisa. The shield represents protection, resilience, and the strength to guard against harm, while the crown symbolizes freedom, independence, and personal authority. Together, these powerful symbols invite us to reflect on our identities, values, and aspirations. Participants are invited to design and create their own shield and crown artwork using a variety of materials, including paint, paper, fabric, and everyday objects. Through creative exploration and hands-on art making, participants will express what protection, leadership, and achievement mean to them while creating an original work of art that celebrates their individuality. Whether you are an experienced artist or simply looking to explore your creativity, this workshop offers an opportunity to connect, create, and celebrate the power of self-expression through art.
