Intro to Kink: BDSM for Adventurous Lovers

Curious about kink but not sure where to start? Intro to Kink is a playful, beginner-friendly introduction to BDSM, kink, and fetish culture. We’ll bust some myths, explore the many ways people play with power and pleasure, and give you practical tools for turning curiosity into experiences that feel fun and safe, consensual and empowering. Whether you’re curious about taking control, giving up control, exploring sensation, playing with roles, or simply understanding what all the fuss is about, there’s room for you here. And no—you don’t have to be a big meanie to be kinky! Kink products at Awakening will be 15% off for attendees on the day of the workshop. In this workshop, we’ll explore: • Kink & BDSM 101: What all those letters actually mean (and what they don't) • Myth Busting: Separating kinky reality from movies, porn, and common misconceptions • Power & Play: Exploring Dominance, submission, and what dances in between • Finding Your Flavor: Discovering what kinds of roles, sensations, and dynamics spark your curiosity • Ethics & Safety: The foundations of consent, communication, boundaries, and risk-aware play • Talking About Fantasies: How to bring up your desires without making it weird • Negotiation & Scene Creation: Turning “What if…?” into a plan everyone can feel good about • The Power of Play: How kink can support confidence, self-discovery, connection, and pleasure You’ll leave with: • A deeper understanding of kink and your own desires • More confidence talking about fantasies and boundaries • A bigger vocabulary for expressing what you want • Practical tools for exploring your eroticism safely and consensually • New ideas for bringing curiosity and playfulness into your intimate life No experience required. No particular orientation, relationship style, or role required. Just bring your curiosity.
