Created in 1969 by Mel and Dorothy Tanner, and established in Denver in 2008, the idea first came to Mel during a mystical personal experience. Afterward, he and Dorothy transformed their art studio into a performance space with music, pulsating plexiglass light sculptures and video art projection — all with the intention of helping viewers refresh the mind, body and spirit.” -Visitdenver.com Lumonics is a captivating multisensory experience presented by one of the first and longest-running light art projects in the U.S. The late Light and Space artists Dorothy and Mel Tanner originated this highly-acclaimed transformative art in 1969, and it continues to evolve. Engage with 75 light sculptures before, during, and after the performance, in rotation from a collection of over 200 Tanner works. This is one of the highlights of the evening. The immersive experience is developed from multimedia techniques originating 55+ years ago and that continues to this day. It is an exhilarating way to come to your senses!
