Sergei Govorov&Glav Band-SMOOTH JAZZ WITH AN ACCENT

The Glav Band brings smooth jazz to life with original music and fresh takes on Kenny G and Grover Washington Jr., full of soul and groove. The Glav Band is a U.S.-based contemporary smooth jazz band bringing together original music, infectious grooves, and the unmistakable energy of live performance. Led by Russian-born saxophonist Sergei Govorov, the band brings its own distinctive accent to contemporary American smooth jazz — shaped by Govorov’s European musical background and classical training, and blended with the sounds of funk, soul, pop, and contemporary instrumental music. Built around the expressive voice of the saxophone, The Glav Band combines sophistication with accessibility, creating music that is polished yet alive. The repertoire features original compositions alongside fresh interpretations of music associated with smooth jazz icons such as Kenny G and Grover Washington Jr. At the heart of The Glav Band is a passion for original music and the unique connection that happens when musicians create together in the moment. Each performance leaves room for improvisation, interaction, and spontaneity — the things that make live music impossible to recreate twice in exactly the same way. From melodic, atmospheric compositions to energetic, groove-driven tracks, the band moves naturally between different moods while maintaining its own musical identity. Powerful rhythms, rich harmonies, expressive solos, and the warmth of the saxophone come together to create music that can be both intimate and exciting. The Glav Band celebrates what makes instrumental music special: no words are needed to tell a story, create an atmosphere, or connect with an audience. It is contemporary smooth jazz with an accent of its own — personal, energetic, and shaped by musicians truly playing together.
