ART Social Hour at Almost Real Things at Canopy

We're opening our doors to everyone who wants to be a part of the ART community and hear from the artists of FORTRESS! Hang out with fellow creators during our ART Club Social Hour & hear from the artists of FORTRESS, Hope Hummingbird, Lauren Napolitano and Kate Csillagi. We host monthly social hours for anyone and everyone to come to. If you're new to Austin and/or looking for community and friends, this is the perfect start. • 6:30-6:45pm: Mingling & Intros! • 7:00pm: Artist Talk • 7:30pm: Q+A + more Mingling! ABOUT THE SHOW FORTRESS brings together three women artists considering a fundamental question: What might we create if we quit inheriting the old world and began imagining the next one? Hope Hummingbird, Lauren Napolitano and Kate Csillagi come together to create a space to loosen the valves, unhinge the brow and turn away from the relentless horrific headlines of this moment. The work of all three contain unique symbolism, casting archetypes and transforming everyday objects into access points for this vast desmesne.
