How does movement change from one generation to the next? How do our histories, communities, experiences, and artistic influences shape what we create today? And where is Baltimore dance headed next? Through original choreography, works-in-progress, completed works, and artist conversations, EVOLVE invites us to experience where Baltimore dance has been, where it is now, and where our artists are taking it. Open Marley isn’t a traditional dance concert. The studio becomes a space for performance, experimentation, conversation, and connection. After sharing their work, featured choreographers will engage in facilitated talkbacks, giving audiences a glimpse into the ideas, choices, challenges, and inspiration behind what they’ve just witnessed.
