Jeff Plate: Porcelain University Knowledge Bowl

Jeff Plate celebrates the release of his book, Porcelain University: Bathroom Book 101, with an audience-participation quiz game! Porcelain University Knowledge Bowl is a live, Jeopardy!-style trivia game hosted by local author and former Jeopardy! contestant Jeff Plate. The audience plays from their seats, picking categories and answering clues drawn straight from the book. Correct answers earn raffle tickets toward prizes, and guests can also submit questions to try to stump the author. A book signing follows, with signed copies available for purchase. THE BOOK Porcelain University: Bathroom Book 101: Quick, Surprising Facts to Learn While You Sit (Zeitgeist/Penguin Random House) packs more than 500 short, standalone facts on how things work, word origins, the human body, science, history, culture and crime. Why are airplane windows round? Why are flamingos pink? Why can't New Jersey car dealerships sell on Sunday? The book is endorsed by Casey Webb (Man v. Food), Jeopardy! Super-Champion Alison Betts and NJ.com's Jeremy Schneider. THE AUTHOR Jeff Plate is an Asbury Park native, Red Bank attorney and former Jeopardy! contestant. He left high school to tour with his band, later graduated from Rutgers Law, and once taught an air guitar class as an adjunct professor.
