Let’s explore move/sing, one of Rhiannon’s most open-ended and flexible formats. First, warm up with a one-of-a-kind singalong dancefloor experience using music from Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon, Barbatuques and more. Then we’ll explore the Vocal River score of move/sing, which is just like it sounds: some of us sing while others move. It’s that simple. All are welcome. The Downbeat is a collaborative vocal improv community in the Bay Area that meets every Monday in the East Bay to sing. At its core, collaborative vocal improv (CVI) is when an attuned group of people makes spontaneous music together with their voices and bodies. Listening, responding, and playing; music just happens! A CVI jam can vary from highly structured games to completely spontaneous music emerging from the group.
