Lyrics for Life Book Launch

Celebrate the launch of "Lyrics for Life: An Anthology of Poems from Birmingham Youth and Adults." The City of Birmingham inaugural Poet Laureate, Salaam Green, in partnership with the Academy of American Poets Radical Reversal, Magic City Poetry Festival, Birmingham Public Libraries, City of Birmingham, and Create Birmingham, invites you to the book launch of Lyrics for Life: An Anthology of Poems from Birmingham Youth and Adults. Edited by Salaam Green with forward by Randall Horton, this project celebrates the pulse, power, and poetry of the Magic City. This anthology is a gathering of words from poets from Birmingham and beyond. It is a space for poems that rise from porches, classrooms, juvenile impacted spaces, and sacred places of becoming. Each page welcomes truth, tenderness, and testimony. This event is free to attend but registration is encouraged.
