Day of Formation for Parish Leaders

"More Than a Program - Forming Disciples in Your Ministries" Join ministry leaders from across the Archdiocese for a one‑day formation experience at St. Paul Catholic Center in Bloomington, IN, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This interactive day will deepen your understanding of how to shape your ministry so that it forms life-long disciples who surrender their lives to Jesus, serve him and his people, and spread the Good news. Our speaker, Fr. Mahan, will explain the vision of the Church for accompanying people through conversion into missionary discipleship, as well as the implications this has for our programs. The Department of Parish Leadership will then offer the opportunity for you to analyze what this means for your own ministry and brainstorm strategies with the collaboration of parish leaders like you. Our Speaker Fr. Daniel J. Mahan has been a priest of our Archdiocese since 1988 and has served in the Connersville, Seymour, Batesville, Indy South, Indy North, and Bloomington Deaneries. He is the first director of the USCCB’s Institute on the Catechism. Fr. Mahan wrote the book "A Journey through the Catechism" and produced the video series "A Tour of the Catechism of the Catholic Church". He currently resides in Washington D.C. Who Should Attend We believe these events are most effective when your parish comes as a team, so bring a fellow ministry leader! This event will be helpful to you whether you are staff or a volunteer leader if you work regularly within your parish, ministry, and/or campus and have a responsibility for the formation of disciples. Cost is $30 and will be assessed to your parish after the event. Please notify us in advance if you are unable to attend so that we do not have to charge this fee.
