Using Scotland as a case study, this lecture examines how nationalism might transcend traditional borders and coexist with a more interconnected world. Dr. Westfall is Professor of Political Science at Wheaton College (Norton, MA) and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Her research focuses on the political and social inclusion of immigrants, women, and ethnic and religious minorities in Western democracies. She is the author of The Politics of Immigration in Scotland and co-author of The Politics of the Headscarf in the United States, with numerous journal publications.
