Stargazing with Skylight Astronomical Society

With the Moon nearly absent from the sky, November 5 offers excellent conditions for exploring dark sky objects of the heavens. Take in diverse objects like galaxies, globular clusters, planetary nebulae and remnants of exploding stars. See the distant Andromeda Galaxy, colorful double stars, and Saturn with its magnificent rings! The Taurid meteor showers will also be active, so keep an eye overhead for an occasional bright meteor or dramatic fireball streaking across the sky. Whether you're an experienced skywatcher or have never looked through a telescope before, come see for yourself just how much of the universe is waiting overhead. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held the following Thursday, Nov. 12. Clear skies and hope to see you there! Meet behind The Barn at Wolbach Farm. Parking at: 18 Wolbach Road Children under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Photography will be taken during this event. If you do not want to be photographed, please let the photographer know. If you have a telescope, feel free to bring one, but there will be several set up that evening for viewing. You may also want to bring a flashlight and a lawn chair if you want to watch the skies for a while. This program is not suitable for dogs. Unless your dog is a service dog, please leave your dog at home. When you register, please complete the participation waiver form.
