A Drink Well Made: A Cocktail Masterclass with Scott James Teague

Join us for a special Cocktail Masterclass at Brass and Bone this coming Sunday. A DRINK WELL MADE Brass & Bone is proud to introduce A Drink Well Made, a six-week cocktail masterclass led by our Head Bartender, Scott James Teague. With more than 25 years in hospitality, Scott has worked behind the bars at Pegu Club, Death & Co and Dutch Kills, three institutions that helped shape the modern American cocktail movement. This isn’t about memorizing recipes. It’s about understanding why a drink works. Beginning with the foundation of the cocktail, spirit + sugar + water + bitters, we’ll explore balance, dilution, temperature, ice, technique, flavor, history and hospitality. Because hospitality doesn’t begin when someone sits down at your bar. Whether you’re making a drink for a guest, someone you love, or yourself, the same care and attention apply. We could all stand to be a little more hospitable to ourselves. Once you understand the structure beneath a recipe, the measurements are no longer arbitrary. You understand what each ingredient is doing, why it is there and how balance is created. You’re not simply learning how to make a drink. You’re learning how drinks work.
