Join Chef Azhar for an intimate, hands-on experience centered on the warmth and ritual of a traditional Sudanese smoked tea ceremony. In this class, Chef Azhar will share the ceremonial preparation of smoked tea—rich, aromatic, and deeply rooted in hospitality—while sharing the stories and meaning behind the practice. You’ll also learn to make two beloved Sudanese cookies: kaak juz al hind, delicate coconut cookies, and banjar, vibrant beet cookies. Gather over tea, build community, and explore how foods connect culture, belonging, and storytelling—one cup and cookie at a time.
