TANNERSVILLE / MODEL DECOY

Join us for Tannersville and Model Decoy LIVE from the Cellar! TANNERSVILLE / MODEL DECOY The band TANNERSVILLE was formed at the foot of Hunter Mountain during the same time that BOB DYLAN, THE BAND, and VAN MORRISON called the Catskill's their home. TANNERSVILLE moved up to the mountain from Westchester NY in the early 70's to an eight bedroom farmhouse named "THE PINECONE" on 23A. The band was working on material for a record deal, and along the way, opened for such big rock acts as J GEILS and eventually for THE EDGAR WINTER GROUP on the FRANKENSTEIN Tour. Since then, the band has written and recorded four Independant studio albums, streaming World wide on all music platforms in a dozen countries around the world. They recently completed their fifth album , 'THE LITTLE EUREKA CAFE". TANNERSVILLE's music has been discribed as AMERICANA, but their arrangements have had them compared to CSN, BRIAN WILSON, and ELTON JOHN. JANNA WALLACK-COHEN KOWAN Aurthor of "THE NAKED GIRL". + MODEL DECOY Model Decoy is Doron Monk Flake and Ari Sadowitz. Grounded firmly in rock with a heavy pour of R&B, the duo occupies a sonic space between Stevie Wonder and Soundgarden. Flake’s lyrics nod to his favorite characters from comics and beyond, and the band’s debut EP features narratives about Thor, Hulk, Fantastic 4, Scott Pilgrim, Kill Bill and cult television show Community. The nerd-driven content began as their old band, The Smyrk, was bowing out. “I had dabbled in nerdtastic compositions with ‘Dial V For Venom’ and ‘The Ballad of Fletcher Reede’” (about Spider-man and the Jim Carrey film Liar, Liar), says Flake. “But I fully realized that niche with ‘The End of Jason Todd’ and ‘Farewell to Arm,’ about Batman’s lesser known Robin and the best horror comedy ever, Evil Dead. Over Twitter, Bruce Campbell said we nailed it.”
