If my mother suffered, I suffer.If my father couldn't have it, I don't get to have it.If the women before me sacrificed themselves, I feel guilty choosing myself.If my family struggled with money, relationships, addiction, abandonment, anger, or grief, some part of me may unconsciously believe: “This is what it means to belong."
