The Friday League

PRICE: $325 for the four sessions (includes a soft drink or coffee, lunch and 8 hours of mahjong plus weekly raffles and exciting grand prizes) THE COMMITMENT/FLEXIBLE SCORING: By registering, participants are committing to all four weeks. In the event you cannot make a session, you are responsible for finding a sub or contacting someone on the Sub List. However, we get it: sometimes life gets in the way of mahjong. Players will be permitted to sign up as a team of two and split the weeks and scores will be combined as one player. Please let us know at the time of sign up if you will be splitting the spot and what dates you each will be playing. HOW IT WORKS: Our goal is to build community and create connections around the timeless game of American Mahjong in a competitive but fun setting. Games will follow NMJL rules (8 flowers, 8 jokers, no blanks) Doors open at 11 am. Players must be checked in and begin play by 11:15 am. Each table must be able to play 3 games in 2 hours. Extra games are for fun and not counted toward scoring. East (The Dealer) is determined by rolling the dice each round. The Haus of Mahj (Jess and Dana) will be present to answer rule questions, but no instruction or guidance will be provided. WHAT TO BRING: The Haus of Mahj will handle the big stuff - mahjong sets, racks, mats, dice and score sheets. Just bring your 2026 NMJL card, a readiness to play and have fun -- and maybe your game face! WHO CAN JOIN? Anyone who can play mahjong independently! Don't wait!
