A Celebration of Prison Book Program

Join us for an evening with executive director Kelly Brotzman and board member Charles Rosario to celebrate the wonderful work PBP does. Admission to this event is free. In lieu of a ticket charge, we suggest buying a book/books to donate to PBP from the wishlist found here. If you would prefer to reserve your spot by phone, you may call Wellesley Books at 781-431-1160. Please be aware of our new parking system for the lot behind the store. Parking is free, but you must check in with Vend Park. We recommend setting this up before the event. ABOUT THE EVENT During National Banned Books Week, join Wellesley Books and Prison Book Program executive director Kelly Brotzman, together with Emerson Prison Initiative graduate and PBP board member Charles Rosario, for a discussion of PBP and a celebration of its work to overcome censorship and send books into prisons. PBP believes in the life-changing power of literature. As such, they have spent the past 50 years sending free books and reading materials to incarcerated people that meet their specific needs and interests. Wellesley Books has been a proud partner of PBP for the last six years. Thanks to donations from customers like you, we've sent them more than 140 bags and boxes of new books! Whether you're already familiar with PBP or would like to learn about them, we hope that you'll join us at this special event.
