Speaker: Doug Stryker (ETH Zurich) Title: Stable 2-systole bounds in positive scalar curvature Abstract: It is expected that positive scalar curvature enforces smallness in at least two dimensions. In this spirit, I will present a bound for the stable 2-systole of closed manifolds under necessary topological assumptions in positive scalar curvature. The proof uses the index theory for twisted spinor bundles due to Gromov and Lawson.
