Speaker: Jake Sullivan is a former US national security advisor and currently the Kissinger Professor of the Practice of Statecraft and World Order at the Belfer Center, Harvard Kennedy School. He also served as the 28th assistant to the president for national security affairs (national security advisor) where he focused on artificial intelligence (AI) as a top national security priority. In the Obama administration, he served as national security advisor to then-Vice President Biden, director of the policy planning staff at the U.S. Department of State, and deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Moderator: Deb Roy is professor of Media Arts and Sciences, MIT, and director the MIT Center for Constructive Communication (CCC). He also leads research in designing human-AI systems that foster dialogue, listening, and deliberation in ways that build civic muscle. Refreshments will be served after the event in the main lobby.
