Full description from organizerShow less
A 4-week series of outdoor community sings to connect with the Earth and a committed group of participants. Come join a cohort of participants committed to 4 weeks of rising and singing together, witnessing the transition into Fall, deepening our relationship with the Earth, and building a shared practice of music and embodiment. In this series, we are excited to welcome elena elizabeth henrick as a co-facilitator. In addition to our regular practices of singing & connecting with nature, we will experiment with bringing in more somatic exercises, movement, and sound baths. Commitment: we meet 4 Thursdays in a row, from 7:00-8:15am, on 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, and 11/19. Participants must be able to join the first circle on 10/29. About the Facilitators: Jordan Mudd is a songleader, grief tender, vocal coach, co-founder of Boston-Area Singing Circles, and an avid explorer of the Arboretum. Learn more about him and listen to his music at www.jordanmudd.com elena elizabeth hendrick is a transformational facilitator of personal and collective learning, healing, and ritual experiences. Her accompaniment embodies a practice of presence and deep listening, co-creating space with participants that gives way for trust, curiosity, courage, and new awareness. As a somatic practitioner, she co-creates space that invites the wisdom of our body to emerge, moving us towards release and healing, and eventually liberation. elena also brings years of leadership and practice in the communal work of creating cultures of peace. Together, they bring a unique blend of style and energy, a trust in each other and in the collective, and their shared commitment to listening for what the moment is asking for. Additional 1-1 Coaching Available: All participants in this series are eligible for a private, pay-what-you-wish Embodied Vocal Coaching session with facilitator Jordan Mudd, or Somatic Coaching session with Elena. Sessions last 75 minutes, and can be scheduled between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, outdoors in the Arboretum, or out of their respective homes in JP. Sessions must be conducted between 10/29 and 11/24. WhatsApp Group: Participants will be invited to join a WhatsApp chat if desired, where they can stay connected to each other throughout the week. Cost: A $40 "down-payment" is required to reserve your spot. A second payment will be asked for before the final circle - leaving it up to you to feel into what you received from the series and what reciprocity with the offering feels like to you. 25% of proceeds will go to the Native Land Conservancy. Access: If cost is a barrier to you, we still want you to join - use the code "FREE" at checkout to reserve your spot for free. RSVP: This cohort will run with a minimum of 6 participants. What to Bring: A water bottle, warm layers, & a blanket or chair to sit on. All Ages Welcome: This series is welcome to caregivers of little ones. There is room for them to fully participate or hang out on the side and interact with the natural world around us. Children do not need to commit to all 4 weeks :) Weather: In the event of heavy rain, circles will be rescheduled to the following Friday morning. You can still sign-up if you are unavailable Friday mornings - just help us pray for good weather! Directions: Our meeting spot is in a beautiful circle of maple trees in a small valley by Bussey Hill Road. We recommend entering the Forest Hills Gate and following Bussey Hill Road until you get to a path on the right leading down to the circle. There is parking available along the arborway near the Forest Hills Gate. Getting to this spot does require climbing a hill. Such a special gathering.” Contact: If you have questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected]. For more information, visit our website & sign-up for our email list here. At Boston-Area Singing Circles, we inspire deeper connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth through song. We believe in the healing, freedom, and joy that can come through communal singing, and aim to make that experience more widely accessible.
