"After Ike" Film Screening and Q&A

The final mile of Driving Forces: The Lincoln Highway Journey programming will conclude with a film screening and Q&A on Sunday, October 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Director and producer Dr. Gregory F. Maassen, of After Ike will host a Q&A after the film to discuss the documentary and the journeys contained therein. "In 1919, a military convoy journeyed from the White House to San Francisco with a 28-year-old Lt. Col. Dwight D. Eisenhower that would change America forever. The documentary details the convoy's struggles and explores the expedition's lasting effect on the nation, highlighting its role in shaping America's interstate highway infrastructure and its (un)intended consequences for communities." Gregory Maassen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with over two decades of experience in editing and audio-visual production. His work spans diverse assignments across Asia, Southern Africa, Europe, and the United States, showcasing his ability to tell compelling stories across cultures and contexts. Gregory earned a Master’s in TV and Film Production at American University (2024) and a PhD in Business Administration (1999). As a Fulbright Scholar, he draws on a rich academic and professional background to bring a unique perspective to his work.
