Full description from organizer

A facilitated peer-support gathering for adults navigating frightening, distressing, or difficult-to-explain experiences. If you have ever thought, “No one is going to believe me,” this group was built for you. You do not have to prove what happened. You do not have to know exactly what it was. And you do not have to change your explanation—or adopt someone else’s—in order to talk about what you experienced. Supernatural Assault Support Group (SAS) is a free, facilitated peer-support gathering for adults navigating extraordinary or difficult-to-explain experiences that have become frightening, confusing, intrusive, distressing, disruptive, or simply hard to carry alone. You may understand your experience as paranormal, spiritual, psychic, anomalous, psychological, unexplained, or something else entirely. No particular belief is required. The name Supernatural Assault Support Group does not mean that MCPS has determined that a supernatural assault occurred. Participants may understand their experiences in different ways, and uncertainty is welcome. What to expect SAS functions much like a traditional peer-support group. We begin with what you would like someone to understand and what kind of support would actually be useful to you. You may share an experience, talk only about how it has affected you, ask questions, listen, or pass. Sharing is always optional. You are welcome to take a break or leave at any time. Participants are asked to share airtime, ask before offering advice, and avoid diagnosing one another or imposing explanations. The goal is not to decide what everyone’s experiences “really were.” The goal is to create a place where extraordinary experiences can be discussed without ridicule, fear amplification, or pressure toward a predetermined conclusion. You do not have to agree about what something means in order to listen respectfully. Support, not proof SAS is not a paranormal investigation. It is also not a psychic reading, treatment session, religious meeting, or debate about whether paranormal phenomena exist. Within SAS, the focus remains on the person: What happened? How has it affected you? What would help now? What choices remain yours? If someone wishes to pursue investigation, documentation, clinical care, spiritual support, or another kind of service, those options can be explored separately. You can take your experience seriously without surrendering your authority over your life. The optional SAS journal Participants receive access to an optional reflection journal created for SAS. You may write, draw, skip a page, change your mind, or return to it later. Nothing needs to be completed or shared. The journal belongs to you and is not collected by MCPS. SAS_Participant_Journal_Session… It offers space to reflect on what you experienced, how you feel about it, what feels meaningful, what remains open, what helps you feel more settled, and what choices or boundaries remain yours. Uncertainty is allowed, not required. You choose what to explore. SAS_Participant_Journal_Session… A few important things This gathering is for adults 18 and older. Attendance is free and intentionally limited to a small group. Sharing is optional. Passing is allowed. Participants are asked to respect the privacy of everyone attending. Photography, audio recording, and video recording are not permitted during the group. Participants should not offer unsolicited readings, treatments, diagnoses, or explanations to one another. Selling and recruitment are not permitted during the group. SAS is a peer-support and educational gathering. It is not psychotherapy, medical care, crisis intervention, or paranormal investigation. SAS_Participant_Journal_Session… About MCPS The Midwestern Center for Parapsychological Studies (MCPS) exists because extraordinary human experiences are often pushed toward one of two extremes: reflexive dismissal or ungrounded certainty. MCPS offers a third path: Disciplined, humane inquiry. Open without being credulous. Skeptical without being dismissive. MCPS explores extraordinary human experience through education, inquiry, community, investigation, and the developing framework of Relational Parapsychology™. Relational Parapsychology considers not only what happened, but the person experiencing it, the surrounding context, the meaning made from it, and the agency carried forward. About the facilitator Dr. Sica Leigh is Director of the Midwestern Center for Parapsychological Studies. Her approach emphasizes curiosity without coercion, respect for lived experience, multiple possible interpretations, and the agency of the person having the experience. You are welcome to come with a story. You are welcome to come with questions. You are welcome to come without knowing what you believe.
