CLE - Tech Law Boot Camp 2026: AI and Emerging Technology for Lawyers

CIPLIT’s Tech Law Boot Camp is an annual series of lunchtime lectures about relevant substantive technology topics. These lectures are open to DePaul law students, alumni and the Chicago legal community. 2026's Tech Law Boot Camp will focus on the use of AI in Industries. All events will run from 12:00-1:00 pm in person and over Zoom (RSVP for the link). "AI and Emerging Technology for Lawyers" with Colin Black (Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati) will be held on October 13, 2026, from 12-1 pm in Lewis 803. This event has tentatively been approved for 1 hour ETHICS CLE for all requesting attendees. Lunch will be provided for in person attendees. This event is free to attend. RSVP to [email protected] with how you plan to attend and your ARDC #, if applicable. ---- Description: A look at how Artificial Intelligence is used in the legal profession (namely ethics) and how it affects attorneys and consumers. ---- Speaker Bio: Colin Black is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law and was among the first JD graduates to earn a certification from CIPLIT in information technology law. Colin currently works in private practice at Wilson Sonsini in the firm’s Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity practice group, where he counsels organizations from startup to fortune 50. Colin’s practice includes cybersecurity incident response, privacy by design, government investigations, and counseling on the responsible use and deployment of emerging technologies, including surveillance technology, AI, and quantum computing. ---- Full Schedule All events run from 12-1 pm in Lewis 803 or online.
