Natural Dyeing with Invasive Buckthorn

Learn how to use one of our region's most invasive plants to make beautiful botanic dye and take home a one of a kind textile! Have you wanted to try natural dye but aren't quite sure how to start? Looking to add more sustainability in your own artmaking and want a cool new way to do so? Artist Katelyn Patton will teach you how to dye with a local invasive species the common buckthorn in this fun, one day workshop! Join us to learn the basics of natural dyeing while discuss healthy ecosystems. Each participant will get their own textile to take home (donated by The WasteShed!) Getting there: Free and paid street parking is available on the street outside of The WasteShed Evanston, but spots may be limited so please plan accordingly. Multiple bus lines stop in the area and the Berwyn red line stop is a couple blocks away. Please let us know if you need wheelchair access.
