Vigil in Observance of National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims

September 25th is National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims Join us to honor those never forgotten by meeting in the Joliet room of Hilton Chicago at 3:30pm on Friday, 9/25 You are invited to carry a photo of your loved ones and wear shoes you are comfortable walking one block in. During The National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims advocates and community members commemorate murder victims and surviving family members. The day also honors the work of organizations that provide services, including support, advocacy, and counseling for families, individuals and communities coping with homicide-related deaths. HONOR YOUR LOVED ONE — DONATE THEIR SHOES Justice For Murdered Children (JFMC) is inviting families of murdered victims to contribute a pair of shoes to the Silent March. The shoes will travel with the movie Nothing to See Here: Watts, helping communities understand that behind every homicide statistic is a real person, a family, and a life that mattered. You may donate shoes that belonged to your loved one or a new pair of shoes purchased in their memory from 12 - 5pm on Friday and from 10 - 3pm on Saturday during the National Expo at Hilton Chicago.
