CCS Mending Workshop

Join us at CCS for a fun, hands-on mending workshop to fix clothes and reduce waste together! Learn more about the "CCS Mending Workshop": Get hands-on and learn how to repair your favorite clothes instead of tossing them out! This in-person workshop is all about sharing tips, tricks, and techniques to help your wardrobe last longer. Bring your worn-out jeans, sweaters, or anything else in need of a little love, and let’s give them a new life together. All materials will be provided. If you don’t have an item in mind from your closet, no worries! We’ll have scrap fabric available so you can practice mending techniques and build skills you can use the next time your favorite jeans—or any other piece—needs a little repair. Whether you love DIY, want to learn something new, or are looking for a useful, eco-friendly skill, this workshop is for you! Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available. 📅 Event Time: 5:00–7:30 PM We can’t wait to get creative with you! ♻️ Meet Your Instructors! Our mending workshop will be led by the CCS team! Each instructor brings a unique background in fashion, textiles, and sustainable practices, along with a passion for giving pre-loved items a new life. Gianna, Owner Gianna studied fashion design and construction, as well as textiles, at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has years of hands-on experience in alterations, reconstructing garments, mending pre-loved pieces, and creating clothing from scratch. She loves finding creative ways to transform existing items into something new. Alysha, Showroom Manager Alysha is our long-time showroom manager and a Kent State graduate with a degree in fashion merchandising. She has a passion for sustainability, thrifting, and finding ways to give clothing a second life. Her love for mending and repurposing pieces makes her a wonderful addition to the workshop team. Megan, Fashion Intern Megan is our Kent State fashion intern, currently studying textiles and fashion design. During her time in the program, she has been designing and creating her own clothing, developing her skills in construction and working with different materials. She brings a fresh perspective and a love for the creative process. Together, we’re excited to share our knowledge, get creative, and help you give your favorite pieces a little more life! ♻️
