Spooky Walking Tour of Berea: Witches & Warlocks Edition

Join the Berea Chamber of Commerce for a frighteningly fun evening as our annual Spooky Walking Tour of Berea returns on Friday, October 16! This year, we’re adding a little extra magic with a Witches & Warlocks theme. Guests are encouraged to break out their witch hats, cloaks, capes and other spellbinding attire if they’d like to join in the fun. Costumes are completely optional, so come dressed up or simply come ready for a spooky night out. We expect there will be plenty of fun photo opportunities along the way! During the walking tour, attendees will hear stories of ghosts, murders, accidents, hauntings and other eerie moments from Berea’s past as we visit some of the city’s most notoriously haunted locations. Cameras and recorders for EVPs are welcome for anyone hoping to capture a little paranormal activity of their own. SPECIAL PRE-TOUR PROGRAM WITH CATHI WEBER We’re excited to welcome Cathi Weber, paranormal investigator, author, lecturer and co-founder of the Haunted Housewives, for a special pre-tour program from 6:00–7:00 p.m. Cathi has spent years investigating paranormal activity and researching haunted locations throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. She’ll share stories and experiences from her work in the paranormal field and help set the mood before we head out into the darkness for the walking tour. Guests who would like to attend Cathi’s program should arrive by 6:00 p.m. Pizza and refreshments will be available during the presentation. If you prefer to skip the pre-tour program, you are welcome to arrive in time for your selected walking-tour departure. SCHEDULE 6:00–7:00 p.m. Pre-tour paranormal program with Cathi Weber, plus pizza and refreshments 7:00 p.m. First walking-tour group departs 7:30 p.m. Second walking-tour group departs Both walking tours will last just under two hours. Please select the ticket corresponding with your preferred tour time when registering. EVENT DETAILS The meeting location will be American Legion Post 91, 91 American Legion Parkway, Berea, OH 44017. Additional event and parking information will be sent to registered attendees prior to the tour. The total walking distance is just under two miles. Tickets are $25 and include the walking tour, Cathi Weber’s pre-tour program, pizza and refreshments. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food to enjoy at the pavilion before the tour if desired. The pre-tour program will take place under a covered pavilion. Please note: This is a rain-or-shine event. No refunds will be provided due to inclement weather. Please check the forecast and dress appropriately. Ponchos and umbrellas are welcome if needed. The walking tour takes place after dark. Guests are welcome to bring flashlights, lanterns or other appropriate lighting. Participants should use caution throughout the event and participate at their own risk. WITCHES & WARLOCKS WELCOME Want to make the night even more fun? Come dressed as your favorite witch, warlock, sorcerer, spellcaster or other magically inspired character! The theme is simply for fun and costumes are absolutely not required. Whether you arrive in a full witchy ensemble or your favorite jeans and sweatshirt, you’re equally welcome to join us. Please make sure any costume you choose is safe and comfortable for walking approximately two miles after dark. Please note: Some stories and information shared during the tour may not be suitable for children. Parents and guardians should use their discretion when determining whether the event is appropriate for their child. This is not a haunted-house-style attraction. No one will be jumping out or intentionally trying to scare guests. The historical and paranormal stories featured on the walking tour will be similar to previous years, so returning attendees may recognize some favorites. Questions?
