A.P.P.L.E. Project - Apple Preservation - 2026 Class

A hands-on class in water bath canning and other preservation techniques. Participants take home what they make. The El Paso County Conservation District & CSU Extension aim to reintroduce heirloom apple trees and promote sustainable land stewardship. The A.P.P.L.E. Project — Apple Preservation 🍎 Planting 🍎 Land Education — Apple Preservation Plant a Tree, Cultivate Knowledge, Harvest a Legacy This class is limited to 12 participants per class. October 19 & 28 Apple Preservation classes are the same class, please only register for one class. Preserving apples is a time-honored tradition that connects seasonal abundance to year-round nourishment. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn practical techniques for safely preserving apples at home, including water bath canning and discussion of freezing and dehydration. In partnership between the El Paso County Conservation District and Colorado State University Extension, this class supports the revival of Colorado’s historic fruit tree culture while promoting sustainable land stewardship and water conservation. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Led by CSU Extension educators, this class is designed for small acreage landowners, backyard growers, and anyone participating in the A.P.P.L.E. Project—Apple Preservation 🍎 Planting 🍎 Land Education—who wants to build practical skills for making the most of their harvest.
