Dear Winter Night Club Members and Friends, It is my pleasure to invite you to join us on Tuesday, September 29, as The Winter Night Club welcomes Jeremy Wayne Tate, founder and CEO of the Classical Learning Test, for what promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking evening. Jeremy is one of the nation’s leading voices in the revival of classical education and has challenged many of the assumptions behind today’s approach to college admissions and standardized testing. He founded the Classical Learning Test or CLT in 2015 as an alternative to the SAT and ACT, with an emphasis on critical thinking, the great works of Western civilization, and an educational philosophy grounded in truth, goodness, and beauty. The idea has gained remarkable momentum. Today, the CLT is recognized by more than 350 colleges and universities, including all of the United States Military Service Academies and state university systems in several states. At a time when parents, educators, universities, and policymakers are asking important questions about what our young people are learning and how we measure academic achievement Jeremy brings a timely and compelling perspective to the conversation.
